ecu chips

I know there are many chips out to make your car run a little better, but the problem is which one do i want/need? I have a 93 civic ex with a 5 speed. the ones that i know of are: MUGEN, SPOON, and a few others i just cant think of them right now. If you can help me i would greatly appreciate it

Right, i posted this awhile back and no response from any one, i also have a 93 ex 5 speed and i havent done anything with the computer, ive also heard about the apexi vafc, i just dont have any experience about which ones are good.

i got a skunk2 chip in my p28 ecu redline at 9000 vtec kickin at 4500

whats it like? has it affected the performance/reliability? have you tried to pass emissions? did you solder the chip yourself or did you buy a whole ecu? gimme some details mane!

haha yea really now! need INFO! i heard chippin help better fuel management and some of those sort..correct me if im wrong.

no i didnt pass emissions but my fuel got better i ran my del sol at the track with my mini-me vtec swap header and intake b&m i ran 15.5 with the chip 15

so in theory they best thing to do would be to have 2 ecus? one stock to use for emissions and one modified for better performance. did you solder in your own eprom or did you get a whole ecu from somewhere else? i think my homeboy with a 92 teg said he just bought the chip and a socket that u have to put inside the ecu and now he burns out the coil on his distributor all the time. just honestly give alot of information. i am alo really interested to know if and apexi vafc would be comprable to chipping the ecu. seriously someone post informative responses, this board is making me dance like a retarded space monkey just to get tiny responses about something alot of you should know about.
