ecu issues

I've got a mini me swap in my eg and i cant get it to fire after replacing the entire ignition system with no luck I pulled out my ecu and its fried

and I picked up a new p28 and plugged it in and still no luck. after I looked at it a little more i realized the ecus are a little different.

The car had a p 28 a51 in it and the one that i picked up today is a P 28 a02. theres a slight difference in the chip set. For instance the a51 has this

which is located in the upper left hand corner of this pic

They're both p28 but the a02 is a year newer than the a51 anyone know if that would make a difference or have any suggestions about why I wouldn't be getting spark?

it seems to me like you have a manual ecu (A02) and an automatic (A51). i think you need to get the one for whichever trans type you have first.

HMM that makes for some interesting pondering because it was originally an automatic that was converted to a manual but was running with an automatic ECU which I wouldn't have thought possible. now the question is whether something else was changed to make it run with the auto ecu or if running it with that would have fried something else ie relay?
