ecu question

hey every i have a 97 coupe and i just put my motor( single non-v )but i have a 99=00 harness with a
0bd-2b vtec ecu so when i rev it and the v-tec is suppose to kick in it acts liks its redlining so i tried 2 obd-2a non v-tec ecu's and the car would not turn on and when we disconected them they smeeled like they got fried my bro says i need a obd-2b non v-tec ecu but some1 is selling me a 99 integra ls ecu will it work and if not wat other ecu's can i use

If I read that correctly, I see that you have a 97 Civic (OBD2A) with a 99-00 Civic wiring harness (OBD2B). Youre asking what ECU you should run?

First off where is the harness that came with the car?

You should be able to use a 99-00 Civic DX/LX/CX computer for this setup.
