This might sound like a silly question to you blokes but i am hoping someone can help me out...
I'm new to civics and i would like to know what modifications need to be carried out to fit a 15x8 +20 rim underneath? such as modifications to guards or control arms?
I have just bought my gf an EG and i am more of a rwd toyota man so any help would be appreciated...
The name is Alex and i am from Australia...

Cheers.

You will only need some fender rolling and very minor negative camber. The amount of roll to fenders is going to depend on the tire size you choose and ride height.

Sorry i forgot to mention tyre size, 195/50...
I don't want to go incredibly low. I would like to tuck tyre though...

Same info applies. You will need to roll your fenders but not completely flat. That wheel size on a 5th generation civic sits further out than the fenders at stock height and 0° camber. Even with a small drop, you would run into an issue with scraping your tires with the fenders when dealing with big dips on a soft suspension setup (as a stuff suspension with a small drop would be ridiculous and uncomfortable)

So running an 8 inch rim isn't a good idea? or should i just be prepared to put in some work to fit them under the guards? I don't want it to be too stiff but i have a feeling it will need to be...

the suspension doesn't have to be unreasonably stiff at all.
