eg rear speakers

got a quick question, since 6 ½" speakers are suppose to go in the rear of the eg hatchbacks it should be possible to fab in 6x9's into that same location. has anyone done that? also does anyone know if the hatchbacks that came with factory rears have a different panel that goes over top of it.... if so im lookin for a pair
