Hi guys, I've signed up to ask some people who might be know the answer to the noise me and the girlfriend are experiencing from our 1999 EK3 1.5 vtec-e It started about a month ago just out of nowhere really this annoying, chirping noise high pitched. Only happens when the engine is upto hot running temperature like down a motorway, happens every gear, neutral. Parked clutch in, parked clutch out, say the noise starts and I'm at a red and pull off it does a chirp that continues till just over 2k rpm, loudest noise being between 1800-2100 rpm, then nothing again all the way up to redline. ive taken off the heat shield from the exhaust from the cat in the engine, heat shield on the manifolds and cat is still in place, thought it could be alternator pulley but still unsure as the noise comes from around the manifold/clutch slave area. Took it to kwikfit today...guy thinks its inside the engine block, and says the clutch is good and it's not that making the noise. As much as he says it and the noise doesnt come from the belt area it sounds like a pulley ? Any replays greatly appreciated Adam
