If anyone could answer this question or your opinion about this setup ...

Using a electric high powered leaf blower as a forced induction turbo kits would it work or not bc you can buy those electric ram air filter kits with electric fans so would a bigger one like a leaf blower work and produce power why or why not if someone could answer this question please reply its a GETTHO TURBO but will it work?????

no its not a turbo break through. this has been done already. they use marine fans to blow air into the car, but since its not actually powered by the exhaust it isn;t a turbo charged design. it has to run off of your battery putting more strain on the battery and alternator.

also a fan design will not work because it will not hold pressure simple by blowing air torwards the intake.

Why is it that everytime someone sees a turbonator, and decides they want to duplicate it .... they think they're some sort of child prodigy?

Here are the best results I found when I searched ClubCivic for "leafblower". This first thread was started on the topic of leafblowers and should have more relivant information for you.

This is an excellent idea!!! I need input!!! by V-TECHPOWER

These two also should have a bit of information on your idea too, but aren't originally based on the idea as the previous one was.

Cheap Turbo Idea. by TilhasBB

electric turbo by kickere696

I would advise you not to be like V-TECHPOWER though. And not to make such an embarassing name ever.

PS - Who missed me?

This was just to make fun of all the cheap people out there trying to get a extra hp if that.... But i have never tried this and it the fing stupidest thing in the world for your ca just buy a real one and put a big smile on your face when the actual boost kicks in and watch the spedometer rise up and then slam on the brakes whne you see a cop ahead

electric turbo=n**** turbo not black* .....*There is a difference

Its a supercharger, so could we all quit saying turbo, both uses forced induction, but a turbo runs off of exhaust fumes and is completely mechanical and has to build up boost, but a supercharger is instant and an be run off the belts in the car, so what we are talking about is definitely a supercharger

You don't need to cover it up by saying "Oh it was just a joke to make fun of all those cheap people." Your first post sounded pretty serious to me. If it was in fact all a joke, this post was the biggest waste of time I've come across on the internet so far and I'll thank you not to post stupid s**t for no reason anymore.

I can't really say I'm convinced by the sudden confession of this being a joke either. Sorry. You just sounded more convincing in the first post. Anyway, this question has been asked before and it's a decent idea in theory so it's not that bad.

yeah thats true, but it was a gas powered blower.. only worked on the dyno with the hood open and giving the leaf blower full throttle into the intake.. i think they did that as more of a joke then anything..

oh and dude, its ok to have a dumb idea... it happens to the best of us, no need to deny it.. you're in good company

they also sprayed nitrous through the leaf blower directly from the bottle.

You'd need one hell of an extension cord. :rolf:

It can be done and may even show results on a dyno....BUT!, you'll be dragging around an extra 120-160 lbs worth of batteries to do it thusly negating any performance gain.

PLUS! if you mount 4 car batteries in the trunk you'll get all the negative aspects of Chevrolet Corvair handling.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAH     :rolf:

I was going to paste a picture of Nader in a Corvair for that but got lazy

for those of you who don't know, Nader's book Unsafe at Any Speed focused on the Chevrolet Corvair. The rear engined Corvair wasn't really dangerous, It just required different driving techniques much like a Porsche 911 does.
