take a 9 volt battery...put the red wire to postive side and black wire to negative side....then play with the adjusting knob(looks like it has one)...thats what i would do....thats how i checked my power folding mirrors

^what he said, but I would try to find a 12v battery. Or if you have an old switching dc power supply from a computer you can use that, that's how I test head units and other car electronics.

looks like... one wire goes to your positive battery terminal(red) the negative(black) goes to the negative terminal or I think a ground, and everything else you mount somewhere... iono. Looks kinda easy to hook up.

edit --

s**t, i thought you wanted to know how to install them.

I guess they should look kinda cool? :what:

A car battery is a 12v; a very large 12v, but still a 12v. If her car starts, and you hooked it up right, then somethings wrong with the gauges.

i think i found out whats wrong with it, this is a picture of what i think it's suppose to look like

but on the back of my switch the pink and blue are reversed, i remember the guy who i bought them from re-soldered it to make a stronger connection and may have switched them by accident

The transformers on those go out pretty easily, both my friend and I had a set, mine started flickering on and off, his just died. Both after less than two years. Imo not really worth it, they looked kinda cool, but to much of a hassle.
