Eliminating trunk rattes

Hey guys,

To those using subwooders in their trunk....has anyone here yet to completely eliminate trunk rattling?

While I can't hear it inside my car, it rattles very loudly outside it. I'm tempted to get some dynamat and put a nice thick layer across the inside over everything near the back end, as that's where the rattles seem to come - but i'd rather not waste money on this if someones already tried it and it didn't help very much.

it will definitely help, if nothing else dynamat is worth the acoustical gains. A LOT of rattle comes from the license plate though, put some dynamat behind that as well.

put something behind the license plate and tighten it down real good, and wrap the latch that closes your trunk in elctrical tape.

when i did those two things, alot of the noise went away

all you need to do is go to bestbuy(thats where i went) and buy the 4 square foot of dynamat, look at my newst thread i posted with pictures of my car, it will cover all of that. I have almost no rattle in my trunk from outside.. its amazing...$35 by the way....

unscrew your trunk bump stops a little so it has some pressure on it when its closed.

I have yet to figure out a way to get rid of the rattle in the truck of a civic. They're terrible for it. brutal almost.
But yah,
-Get some clothe and tape it to your latch, or just use lots of tape.
-Dynomat/BrownBread your trunk (more keeping the sound in then getting rid of the rattle, cause the pressure bumpin the trunk is still there)
-Put something behind your license plate (foam tape/brown bread/dynomat)
-Completely weld/seal your trunk shut lol

On another note, if you try and tighten your cable for your trunk lever thing, dont do it too much (i dont suggest doing it). If you over tighten you wont get it closed, or may get it closed and never get it open, so be careful there.
