Engine Check light, Civic, DX, 1997, M/T

Hello,

About three months ago I may have hit a bump (or so I think) and the speedometer went crazy. Speed indicator is at 0 or jumps all around. After a while the engine check light went on.

I checked VSS - OK. Car drives fine. After 2 months the speedometer more or less works correctly, that is most of the time it shows the correct speed and does not jump when I press gas pedal. I reset ECU, but the engine check light still came up.

The trouble codes I get are plentiful and meaningless (to me), as all the components they complain about are fine (except may be one). Probably problem with connection or fuse box. Altho all fuses are fine.

So here are the codes:

P1298 (Electric Load Detector High Input)
P0135 (Oxygen Sensor 1 failure)
P0141 (Oxygen Sensor 2 failure)
P0301 (misfire in cylinder #1)
P0500 (VSS malfunction)

Both of the sensors are fine, VSS is fine, there is no misfire in cylinder #1.

So the question:

The combination of the symptoms and trouble codes that I described. Did anybody had the same problem and what was the solution?

to me it sounds like an electrical problem. my girlfriends Accrod did the same thing, different codes, but had the speedo jump like that. Turned out to be alot of corroded electrical lines, and a fuse that was faulty...check your fuses, and your electrical..
