I have a 99 civic Si coupe and was wondering how to paint the engine cover correctly. Need assistance taking it off and finding the right way to paint it. Any info is greatly appreciated.
Felt a little stupid asking this, but thanks a ton man! Cant wait to get to work. Here's a good DIY

As far as taking it off, it's extremely straightforward. Just simply take everything off. All the bolts, the spark plug wires, the little air line that goes to your intake. All that. Just take it off and then put it back together when you're done. Be careful removing the bolts as they're prone to snapping. You'll also probably need some needle nose pliers to remove the stuck spark plug seals underneath the valve cover. I would recommend replacing the valve cover gasket and tube seals while you have everything apart.
This is very straightforward and simple. As always with painting, the prep is key. Follow the DIY that I attached and you'll be fine.

Also no need to torque down hard on those valve cover bolts reinstalling them either, the specs are like 5 ft lbs.Be careful removing the bolts as they're prone to snapping.
