it's a honda. it's born to live in the hi revs. other wise it would just be another 4 banger.

Unless you're racing, you really shouldn't have to take it past 3500rpm, but it won't hurt the engine. Take care of the car and it will take care of you!

Rev it to redline - there's yer standard rev-limiter to prevent damaging the engine. Rev it all you want and have fun with it!! Hell, VTEC doesn't kick in unitl what, 6500? It wouldn't have been developed if it was going to harm your engine..

VTEC 6500 RPM?????? ON A 95 EX?????the stock rev limiter shouldnt let you go past 7500 on an ex....how gay would that be to only have vtec active for 1000 rpm....

damn an ex v-tec kicks at 4400... didn't know it kicked so early, my b16a2 kicks at 6k but lets me take it up to 8500. anyway can i get it to engage at 4400 without the v-tec controller. oh yeah, and wuts the difference between the v-tec controller and the (i think this is wut it's called, they are both from apexi though) air fuel controller. which one would give more performance for your $$$.

ah, thanks for the correction - didn't know it kicked in so low. Almost can't tell on a stocker. ;)

Of course you don't want to bang it off the rev limiter all day...

i thought it kicked in at 4800 on integras and 5500 on civic ex's

lets start a new thread...this is nuts that im thinking about it now...cuz yea the rev limiter in the manual on an ex says 7200 redline but i was screaming down the road in third last night and i know i got up past that but i know it will bounce over 7500 and i can hear vtec start to changeover in high 4g's but it doesnt fully change until 5000 on my car...think its chipped?
