I honestly know nothin about cars so I need some help here .. I have a 95 Honda civic dx that smokes like crazy and the oil comes up from the bottom and floods it to where the sparks don't ignite . Basically I need a new engine but I don't know what kind I can put in . My ex used to race his 96 eclipse and knows a lot about cars .. he told me that there are used Japanese imported engines that have low miles on them . Does anyone know what engine is upgrade from a stock engine and where I can get one? The cheapest one would be cool and I would like to add mods like maybe cold air intake and that .. any suggestions ?

Whats your budget, and do u or ur ex or whoever plan to do this yourselves. Larger engine swaps require a lot more than just a new engine as the link above states. You'd be best off going for the same engine you currently have, or at least staying with some sort of D series to keep cost down, especially if your getting it done at a shop
