engine swap ideas..

i need help with a engine swap...i think my engine just died...and i was thinking about engine swaps...i was orginally gonna do a b16a4...but now i was thinking about a d16a8 and supercharging it later on...which would be the better choice? i know the b16 has alot more stock horsepower and dohc...but i need to get my car up and running quick...but i don't htink i could scrap up 3g's in a month or so...how much would a d16 swap come out costing me? is it vtec? and alost can i put bov on a supercharger? thanks for any info

well first off i would do some research on what engines are available to you... i don't know how easy it is for you to get the d16a8 or a b16a4, it'll prolly be easier for you to get a D16z6 (its the ex/si motor of the 5th gen) which will be cheap when you find it used. If you were to order an engine online, its easier probably to get the B16a2, b18c1, or b18c5. All the above i have listed have v-tec, there is an engine swap guide in the starting of this forum which tells you what can fit. The z6 you can get for prolly 700 bucks, and there is no use throwin a supercharger on that cause it will be worth 5 times what your engine is. If you are really strapped you could always do an H22.

i think a d series for the money you got will be your best bet. when buying a new swap, theres parts you gotta replace that coast money

neither one of those setup's will net you much power. b16a and the supercharger sohcvtec will net you around the same number's. i think a better choice would be b16a then supercharging it later

i know you weren't really referring to me, but i saw those #'s before i originally replied which are some pretty impressive #'s, plus i don't think that teg motor has vtec, also i haven't ever seen those for sale on any web site... generally all i see are what i listed before. good luck

Maybe even convert the civic to RWD. I know its not any of us..but
