:wstupid: b18c1 is on of the best motors, and so is a b16a, both are relatviely cheap, and if you get teh JDM b16a, its only got 10 less hp than the USDM b18c1

Well your information is a bit wrong. The jdm h22a is only 200 hp, not 220. Did you find this off of some site? Local junk yard?

But for that price, i would definently go for it, if its from a reputable place, 1900.00 sounds very much too good to be true though. Make sure you are getting EVERYTHING (harness, tranny, ecu....etc) and that it all looks good. Make sure all your sensors are there and not broken. Also make sure it comes with the resistor pack.

This is great torque-y motor and you're going to love it if you do it right. Turbo is also an option but only at low psi due to the thinness of the h's cylinders.

GL! :thumbs up

You should go with whatever engine suits you. Don't go with what others tell you. Base your decision on your mechanical skills and your price range.
I'm a poor ass university student, so I ditched the D15B7 and went to a JDM 'ZC' SOHC VTEC motor. I'd only recommend this swap for a hatch however. I made significant gains with my engine due to my wet weight of only 2100 lbs(no driver). In a coupe or sedan, the extra weight will hurt the little engine.
If money isn't too much of an issue, definitely get something with DOHC VTEC. Even if you have to save up for longer, you'll be thankful later. If you want to stay in a budget and lose the D series engine, get a B18B. Excellent torque for a small engine, and if it's not enough you can always swap a VTEC head on er! :D
