Euro vs. US models

Hi all,

I am about to buy a '93 Civic 1.5 LSi (only model I've seen, except the V-TEC one) over here in Ireland. Sourcing performance parts for this from the US is quite hard it seems, as the LSi model seems to be a european occurence. I can't really match it up with any of the US models.

It's got a D15B2 engine, per the specs at:
http://hondacar.free.fr/Range/range_civic%2092-95.htm.

I am thinking about an engine swap anyway. Thought I'd go for a B16A from HMO. Do I need to go for the "Complete Change Over" they've got, or can I use the "B16A Hydraulic Transmission" they've got over at Allbodykits.com, and use some of the parts I have from the old D15B2 engine?

This is the first Civic I'm getting, and I figured I'd go head first and go for a motor swap. It's probably not going to be easy, but I want to learn how to do it, and any pointers would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

You basically have a DX but with an old engine from the 4th gen Civics. Dual point injection. We didn't get that engine in US 5th gens. But don't quote me on that I'm pretty new to this crap.

well i am new too, but judging that the Esi Civics came with a D16z6 (USDM its the EX as we all know) i don't think it would be any harder to do a swap then it would here. All that depends on what you want to do exactly. Like the other guy said do the compete change over because the D-series only works for D-Series, and B-Series only works for B-Series. http://www.hmotorsonline.com/shop/sc2000search.cgi?what=page&item=30005 looks like a good one, i don't know how stringet the laws are in Ireland (Emissions Laws) if any, so i would recommened a newer engine, any (but the 88-91) because those are cable trannies not hydrolic like the new ones... and i don't know how hard that would be to change over.
