^only if the runners don't drop down low enough. the one i saw came off the block, dipped really low and had a turbo sitting no higher then the valve cover. but yes hood clearance is a concern with that style if its not fabricated properly.
i'd really love to see an all out comparison on manifolds. say take the same car and just keep swapping manifolds. start with hf, go to log, try the new ssautocrap ones, mini-me, ramhorn, top mount, sidewinder etc. itd be interesting to see the effects of manifold design. of course you'd need different downpipes with some of those.
