Ex Cluster In Civic Dx? Any DIY's????

I purchased a Ex gauge cluster from an auto salvage with 100k miles for 10$...

I have a civic Dx.....which has no tach ===== main purpose of purchase.

I did'nt pull out my cluster yet, but will i need to chop anything. or is it plug and play?
Mainly so i know what im in store for...

Def want it in by this weekend...
Got alot of Goodies in this week and will post my build thread.

Any and all info will be highly appreciated...

def a good write up bro...But the Dx does not have a Tach & I completely understood the DIY...But that Tach will Work as welll? I just figured their would be an extra plug or something being my Motor does not have 1. and the Ex does....?

it'll have it attached to the other wires if i remember correctly. someone correct me if im wrong.

edit: tach will work.

Search! This has been answered numerous times man.

Any 96-00 Civic Cluster, 97-01 CR-V Cluster, and any 96-00 Acura EL Cluster is interchangeable and Plug & Play. It does not matter if its Auto, 5-Speed, has Tach or No Tach, KM/H or MPH, etc ... It will all be Plug and Play and it will work 100% perfectly.

My bad, but iguess this workd out easier for me.
I just dont have the time to stay or keep getting on here...

It's easier to make and leave a post and come back few hr's later to see if i have any info.
But i appreciate alll ure help....

Ok so this evening i pulled out my DX gauge CLUSTER & It has 4 Connecting Plugs. I checked on the back of the Ex gauge CLUSTER and it has 5 Plug connections...I do not have the wiring for the Ex cluster. Im assuming the missing LINK is for the Tach, which is the main purpose i purchased the EX CLUSTER..

SO WHAT SHOULD I DO NOW?
Anyway around this?

Just plug in the EX Cluster with the Plugs from the DX. The plugs only fit in one slot, so you cant get them mixed up. Turn on the car, take it for a drive and see for yourself everything works perfectly fine.

The extra plug is either for the Fuel Light that EX's have or some other random thing that you do not have in your DX.

lmao...I did....It work'd and i figured it would work. But my ? was what is the extra slot for which i believe was answered....
everything is up and going. I believe the lghts work as welll....
