Ok.. so i just bought a DX shell.. i have an EX donor car (which i just want to swap over the components from)..

I just put the EX cluster into my DX.. but there is no Green plug for the tach on the dash harness.. I cut the green plug off of the EX harness so i could manually wire up the tach.. now.. there are four wires on the green plug.. where does each one go? can someone help with this? thanks

ALSO.. I have complete power door panels from the EX that I want to swap over as welll (power windows, power door locks).. what does it take to transfer all that over?

i havent heard of EVER cutting wires for a gauge cluster swap. all the civics even the ones that dont come with a tach are prewired for it, so it's basically plug and play homie...im not sure what u did but i just hope u havent messed anything up

The green isn't the tach. It's cruise control.

Your car is prewired for the tach. Just put the two main harnesses in the cluster.

plugged everything in (only the green spot ont he back of the cluster is empty).. tach doesnt work?? is there a way to manually run a tach wire from ecu/dizzy to the stock tach? because i think the guy that had it before me had an aftermarket tach in the car.. i think he just cut the factory wiring and ran it to his aftermarket tach, but i dont know where in line he cut it at..

That sounds like a job for a shop .... if some guy cut the stock wiring out of the factory harness, you may be propper f**ked.

I did that swap, it is just basic plug-and-play thing. The DX is pre-wired for a tach. So if you haven't cut anything, then dont! if you did, rewire the harness so you can plug it. now the doors, i think the car also migh be pre-wired to a point, I was loooking into swapping my manual mirrors for power and i noticed that the main harness that runs under the dashboard has an open harness at the ends near the doors. I THINK that is where the door harnesses plug. So if you have the door harnesses see if the end fits those plugs and if it does, you have to run them from the door to under the dashboard and plug them there. good luck there

THE ANSWER TO THE GREEN PLUG IS, its actually for the gear shift light for automatics, P,R,N,D4,D3,2. the EX cluster, well doesnt come with it, so you can just let loose the green plug behind the cluster, that is what i did, shouldnt cut it just in case you might want to swap back to a... ughh dx cluster

No no.. i only cut the green plug off on my donor car.. my donor car is manual, and has the green plug on it.. so im thinking that its for cruise control.. regardless, i need a wiring schematic or something to see where to tach wire is so i can manually run it from the cluster to the ecu.. as for the doors, CivicDX94, you arent talking about the ECU CEL plug, are you?
