Hey what size is the stock exhaust pipes that are on my civic. (98 Ex)..... what I am asking is most of the mufflers that you can buy say 2.5 inch inlet..... i didnt think that civic pipes were that big..... so basically what I am asking is if a muffler has a 2 inch or 2.5 inch inlet will it fit my civic by being welded on......

Damn ... I was hopin this thread was about trouble getting the exhaust off ... I was gonna say " if it doen't work at first, USE A HAMMER!!"

Anyway, don't quote me but I think the stock pipes are 1.25" to 1.5"

well, im not sure bout you SOHC'ers

but on my Si, the stock piping is only 2.25 inches... or maybe its 2 inches flat??

if you get a muffler with a 2.5 inch inlet, just get custom mid piping done .. 2.5 inches mandral bent, but your going to need a different cat.converter for that to work . . with that is 2.5 inches obviously, and then the same would apply to your header

but why get a cat back system when he can get a APexi N1 muffler and get custom mandral bent piping and have less restriction in the mid pipe for about the same price?

Any good muffler shop should be able to get it on there... but yeah, either get muffler and custom piping or a full cat-back. Trust me.. I was gonna go that route but I'm glad I didn't.. GO FULL SYSTEM OR LEAVE IT STOCK

OK, THE ONLY REAL DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE SI AND EX IS THAT THE SI HAS 30 MORE HORSES AND 7 MORE LBS OF TORQUE. MOD THE EX AND YOU HAVE A MATCH. THE SI WEIGHS A LOT MORE TO.
