exhaust noise

I have a 98 civic lx i just put on an aem short ram intake and ractive rear section exhaust. I'm now getting a sound right under the middle of the car that sounds like an echoing after i rev the engine. The noise from the exhaust and intake stop and the center section just make a rumbling noise. Anyone else have this problem before or should i get it checked out by someone?

first... .. and i dont think its something bad... most likely its just the ratling made by the noise .... thats a good thing ... unless its rust in the pipes.. ... then its bad....

Its not really a rattle its like an echo in the exhaust pipe. It sounds like the air isn't completely getting out of the pipe its going back up and sticking under the car like right under driver seat but in center of car.

sorry, this is totally unrelated to your question but, I'm considering buying that intake for my ride, what are your thoughts on it ? ie. noise, performance (any pics ? )

i like the intake but it makes a little bit of a whistling around 2500 rpm if you don't mind that at all its a good intake to buy. It made my exhaust sound alot fuller.

ah ic.... then i dunno bro... cant help u with that... maybe the pipes are a lil constricted??.... did u change all of the piping?... or just the muffler?... maybe the original pipe is rusted or lose?... i dunno... but i doubt it doesnt sound too bad

All i changed was the rear section the rest is still factory i quit my job so i gotta get a new one before i buy the mid section for my exhaust. the pipes are a little rusted but i doubt they should be leaking or anything. thanks anyway though

I got a Ractive intake and I love it and it's better quality than ALOT of intakes out there.... Ractive is nothing to laugh at.

i don't have experience with ractive... but i'm runnin the stock airbox and i know for sure it's better quality than a lot of intakes out there.

lol stock rocks! but the echo might be the sound of a cat going bad. It will just get worse with time. My buddie's cat on his stock 91 dx went shitty and it started out as an echo and then to a rediculous rattle fest under the car. Check out a high flow cat if your gonna be replacing it. and might wanna look at a cat back exhaust.
