filter problem

the problem is my turbo sits so close to my engine theres no room to even fit any pipe to put my filter o, I basically just wasted about 40 bucks on bendable pipe and couplers, bending and having a grande ole time of trying to make things fit. Its such a tight room i cant even get a clamp between the engine and turbo to tighten a coupler on it. I obviously need something since this is my daily driver. If I were to make a flat mesh filter what could i use to put over that to stop dust and such.

I'll try to poste a picture to show how tight of a space i'm talking about.

Are you saying it's too close to even get a clamp on?
