First time car owner - Honda lover

hi, my name is austin. I am a first time car owner, i just bought my 1991 honda civic LX from craigslist dallas on saturday. I am in love with my car. she is a 5 speed DOHC 16 valve 4 cyl. Shes a little bit rough but I will fix her up. It has 268,448 miles on odometer. Its okay though because when the motor goes, I will buy a VTEC motor and tranny set and install it.

Idk if its DOHC(Double overhead cam) or SOHC (single overhead cam) at this moment. Bu t i know its a 16 valve

Cool. Im gonna do a swap when the engine dies. Till then im gonna put high mileage additives in her. Try to get her to hit over 300,000.

Do it up I have a 91 with 123k if taken care of and preventative maintanence 300k is a no brainer im sure its a d15b2 sohc 16v dpfi.

My old CRX saw 216,000ish before someone totaled it. It even started up after the crash. It easily had another 75k left in her.

If you take care of it, Honda motors last forever. My bottom end just rolled over to 249,000.

I went and saw a crx to try and buy it. The guy told us that it was running so we drove 115 miles both ways to see it. It did run but it was in horrible condition. POS. Good lookin body tho.

It is just dual point= two injectors and mpfi= four injectors

Yeah its part of your intake. I personally think the only thing I would to it is check everything over good. Do any fixes and save money for a swap a intake isnt gonna do a damn thing for the 90hp monster

Yeah she needs a few things. Shes severely under powered(added stp octane boost helped a little) I know she needs a tune up, exhaust needs to be replaced(Might go with borla catalytic converter with magnaflow muffler and magnaflow pipes, need to do a radiator flush and more, I want to replace all the filters, all the gaskets, front and rear main seals, get a high flow fuel pump and a high volume fuel filter(high performance as well) replace also the plugs, wires and coil pack, change the oil and put hyper-lube in her(high mileage additive can be bought at auto parts stores) I want to drop a 16 valve VTEC 4cyl in it after i upgrade the suspension.
