Hey,

Well lets start by stating the obvious...I am new here. I recently traded my 1998 Supercharged Lincoln Mark VIII for a 2000 Honda Civic LX... Mainly because of gasoline consumption and the fact that at my young age (18) my insurance is cheaper for a 4 door vehicle with a smaller engine. Im really liking my civic, the only thing wrong with it is that the drivers window wont go down and the paint job is a little iffy. It has a brand new tranny and engine, both with about 20k on them. Its a real change from my 398bhp Lincoln but a good one. The guy I got it from gave me a v-tech head, its just layin in my trunk and a few other spares with it, I don't know if it's worth putting the v-tech head on or just sell it, and if i do how much could I get from it?

Thanks =)

Next thing im doing is getting front and rear lips, then lowering it, hopefully installing a Supra style exhaust (the fat ones that pop out at a slight angle). the main problem with it is paint issue, there are a bunch of small scratches everywhere, especially on the hood, when I got it i thought it was cat hair on the front of the car, I was mistaken and saddened at the same time when i found out it was hundreds of tiny scratches. :(

Im new to the Honda community so sorry about the noobish spelling of V-Tec :P

most ppl would say to put in the vtec head on there. wont make much difference power wise but will help fuel economy. you can get a new window motor from ebay for less then 40 bucks and not very hard to replace. just take the door panel off, unbolt the old motor, unplug it and go in reverse order to put in the new one. also u must take the glass off, which uses a 10mm socket.

Looks great man, good start for your age... just keep it clean, search the heck out of Google and this site for idea's to make it your own, MOST 99% of things you do will have been done by someone else so ask if you need help but always Search first...

Also the Vtech as you now know being Vtec lol You can click EDIT on your first post and change that, make it look a bit better! HA =) That will help..

As far as the head, I say swap it, it is called Mini Me Swap, search it and see what you want to do... But when you do, make sure you replace Timing Belt, water pump, Head Gasket and get OEM Honda stuff for the best results.... Or sell it for about 100-150 bucks depending on condition.. They are worth a few bucks but nothing MAJOR....

GL with build and keep us updated

welcome kid. fixing that window problem is easy. you have to determine wheather you need a new window regulator or a the motor is busted. look it up how to determine what is broken. i thing if you hear the motor when you move the switch, then thats the issue. if not the window regulator is just old and needs to be replaced. car looks goood, nice rims, drop a little bit.

If I was to order lowering springs, how hard is it to install them myself? My old car was on air bags and those were a pain in the rear end when the front left one blew, I tried replacing it myself but gave up and gave it to the shop.
