OK Im helping a friend put together a turbo setup for his d16y7 with y8 intake manifold. He doesnt want to spend very much money hes already got the turbo which is a TD05H and turbo manifold. Would an FMU be good enough if he was going to run 8lbs of boost at first? Also would he need to upgrade the injectors or would his stock ones work fine. One more thing where would you put the FMU and how would you hook it up. Thanx.

youll need an FPR if your going to use an FMU with upgraded injectors. personally i would get a VAFC to control the injectors and fuel, over an FPR and FMU

Remember though, timing is equally important.

I ran a 12:1 fmu and missing link, along with an external pusher pump when i first turbo'd my B18C.. I had no issues running at 8psi.. was it my setup of choice? Um, nope.. but it got me by for a few months until I got hooked up with john @ www.j-k-tuning.com where he got me set up on Uberdata..

and i still have the fmu and missing link, for sale, if the need arises for someone..

no, you don't upgrade injectors with an FMU....the whole point in an FMU is to force more fuel through your injectors....if you upgrade them, u'll run pig rich....
people have ran low boost on an FMU, i don't recommend going more than 6 psi with an FMU....
your best option is either going with a VAFC hack with 450 dsm injectors or Greddy emanage with the DSM 450's..... seriously, go to turbod16.com....thats the best website for your turbo questions

I think some people have ran bigger injectors, fmu, and an adjustable fpr together.
