Footwell Lights?

(Posted this in 7th Gen forum... Could be wrong forum, not sure, so I posted it here to...)

I have a 2001 Civic and was looking into installing interior neon or similar in the footwells above the pedals, so that the pedals and floor is lit up, but I can't seem to find space to fit them in. Is there a relatively cheap and easy way of doing it at all?

Oh, and I'm in Australia so parts are kinda hard to come by!
Thanks.

street glow mini neons, get the 9" ones, pick em up on ebay or something, they have lifetime warranty and they fit perfectly in that little area underneath, I had em in my old car, just ordered new ones for my new car in a diff color

I was going to suggest those light bar things, but DIY led strips sounds like a great idea..

Just get em from advance auto. 21 bux gets you two 9" led strips... I got blue... But on the drivers side, there's no place to stick em too without them being visible. What did you guys do?

I just finished doing this to my 98 civic. I got lights from oznium.com. 2x 12" cold cathodes for like 7$ and like 3$ shipping, can't go wrong. Also they're good quality.

Anyway install was easy, unscrew and take off the glove compartment face and you'll see a black bar. Simply zip tie the tube to it on the bottom part and put the glove compartment back on. It'll fit fine, nothing will hit each other and you won't see the tube, just the glow going down (looks alot more professional when you see the glow and not the tube!)

As for the drivers side I couldent find a place to mount it like the other one, so I ended up putting it straight across the "bar" thing for the steering, up out of the way of everything, then securely zip tied it with 2 zip ties in a X format over and around the light and around the bar.

Looks great, lots of glow, nothing in the way, no visible bulbs.

I have done this twice and I got the perfect solution for it, you need zip ties that have holes to screw through attached to them, then you put them around the light tube, with the underdash piece taken out measure it out, drill through, put two screws through the plastic pilot holes you just made, then just pop the screws through the zip tie holes. It puts the tube at the perfect level parallel so you don't see it, but not under that lip so that you lose light, I will take pics later I'm not home right now to show you
