front control arm

Replacing my upper control arms in the front. Took out the shock and strut........blah blah, then backed out the two nuts that link the control arm under the fender. Problem lies here, once the nuts were removed from the bolts I noticed there is no room what so ever to back the bolt out of the control arm. I could think of cutting the bolt out with a grinder, but I dont have an aircompressor so using air tools to do that is out. An electric grinder might be cutting it close. Any suggestions. I will try to post pics. Thanx:?:

I dont need the axle removed. This is the upper control arm I'm working with here. Struts already removed and out of the way. The upper control arm nuts and bolts (2 nuts 2 bolts) have been undone. The problem I'm having is with those bolts because the bolts are too long too back out of the control arm with out hitting the inside of the wheel well. In other words its as if the two bolts that hold the control arm in place were put in backwards and then had the car welded and built around that so as if the bolts were to never be removed. lol

You need to go into the engine bay and find the Nuts that hold the Upper Control Arm to the Chassis. Undo those and let the UPA down. If that doesn't clear enough space, undo the Castle Nut that holds the UPA to the Knuckle and take the Ball Joint off with a Ball Joint Puller (Rent one at an auto parts store). You will definitely have enough room then.
