Im currently swapping a 1990 b18a1 into my 91 civic. Since ive got everything so cheap I have some cash left over from the project. So im going to boost the ls motor. Ive just got done reading all of the stickies and the only thing im not sure about is what you guys use for fuel ???

All I know is you guys use the greddy blue box wich I cant find any for obd 0 years. Do they even make them for obd0 ??? and if so how much boost do they compensate for, all it says is stock psi levels ?? I would like to use this so called bluebox becuase it is so damn cheap. Im used to spending 500+ on standalones just to tune out 6psi which is really stupid. Ive seen some hondas run a rising rate fual pressure reg on 5psi and it was still a b***h to tune and would run smelly rich no matter what. Im aiming for 6-10 psi on stock internals looking at the comp ratio on the ls motor im sure it can handle it..

Oh ya and who is boosted in here anyone ???

If you want to run any of greddys fuel management youll have to get a OBD0 to OBD2 conversion harness. I would suggest Uberdata. It will allow you to get your car tuned to its best potential, for a reasonable price. Youll need a OBD0 to OBD1 conversion harness(60$) and chipped ecu to do this. And you will have to find a dyno around that works with uber.
Do crap out on your fuel management and get anything cheap, its a VERY important part of the setup.

f**k I knew I would have to swap to obd 1 or 2. I hate tuning crap and was trying to avoid it at all costs. So im guessing the only way to avoid swapping to obd 2 is going with a sds extra injector controller AGAIN BAAAAHHHHH!!!!!
I hate these f**king things. As for uberdata is that anything like hondata ?? Im used to using something called Megasquirt for obd2 saturns "which is a full standalone" and that s**t took me 2 weeks to even get the car running like ass. Has anyone hacked the obd 0 ecu's yet ????

sorry i was just under the impression that boosting a honda was way easier then a saturn which is one reason i converted. Turns out the saturn was easier

Atleast honda crap is cheaper all around

Most of the time when you go with a good fuel management your gonna have to convert to a differnt ecu. Uber is basically the same as hondata, but way cheaper and hondata comes with a few more features. Megasquirt is a VERY compilcated setup, you have to rewire your wole engine, With uber/hondata you just convert to OBD1 and the system is made to run with your ecu.

megasquirt really wasnt that hard becuase saturns have coils and not a distrib

werd, use turboedit you have a 91 all you need is a pm6 ecu and some dsm 450cc injectors and your set total investment should only be around $200 for your managment if you want to get into it more you can get a rom burner and a wideband and tune your own car or you can use rom files someone else made for a similar setup....

check these out:
www.turboedit.org
www.pgmfi.org

btw: the new version of turboedit lets you use a pm6 to control vtec =)

What 12 volt switch does the PM6 use? Is it similar to the PS9 and the tranny lock?

the pm6 uses the ac solenoid similar to the ps9 all you do is run a wire to your vtec solenoid and your done, you also have to enable it in TE like b4 you can set your engage and disengage points, it also has an option to disable the o2 sensor either all together or just when your in boost which is f'n awesome cause now you can run the car off of just maps and you dont have to worry about the ecu trying to lean out your afrs....

Isnt 450cc injectors a bit to big for.................... I dont know 200 250hp ???? I know it would be better to get a uber for the long run but sadly this car is not going to see more then 250hp. Im going to eventually sell the car for another h22a EG. Intill then I think im going to stick with this ghetto sds eic its for turbo newbs but Ive used this one setup on 4 different cars and I still have it.

I love this civic and all but I miss my eg and the h series just happens to be my favorite honda motor.

THnx for the info guys

450cc's are not too big, we have this same setup in my buddies crx with a d16y8 and runs strong, 285hp is easily atainable with a stock b18a1and with the 450cc's and TE, you dont need uberdata you need turboedit
