Im thinking of turbo'in my y8 soon but dont know whether to do it or not, the main issue is cash flow. i can afford a custom set-up and installation but i'm worried about fuel managment. For the next few months do you think i could get away with runnin around 7-8 PSI on a stock motor with only a vortech FMU.

skip the FMU and go uberdata, youll find that much more in your budget

ive been reading up on uberdata but i dont know of any tuners that could set it up or tune, i think there is only a handfull of places in the UK that have a good reputation of dealing with hondata so if i go to most places and say uberdata they probably look at me like im an alien.

thats also another one of my problems, i dont really have time to diy at the moment as i only have 9 weeks left at university and studying my ass off. once i finish i will have time to diy as much as i want but i dont want to do any damage to the motor in the mean time

You can substitute a FMU with a ECU reflash or even a hack from APEXi. You can actually get away without a Adjustable / Rising Rate FPR. Thats why a lot of kist come with higher flow injectors.

IMO a good reflash is all you'll need when running less than 10psi.

BTW I beleive teh Hondata S200 can be flashed for Boost. But dont hold me word for it. Look into it first.

You could try doing what I did. It works well:
DSM 450cc Injectors, Walbro 255lph fuel pump, Apexi VAFC and a PLX Wideband o2 sensor with digital readout. You don't even need a dyno. Just street tune the b***h by watching the wideband and adjusting fuel accordingly.
