Okay here's my deal...

'96 DX coupe
D16Y7 Block w/ bottom end built/Port polish head/ stock besides that
Goal of 180-200 h/p
T25 or DSM turbo
ODB2

I just need a few conformations on some fuel management issues... If I use Apexi's system I have no need to touch my ECU right?
Also, would I need bigger injectors/fuel pump to reach my goal?

I like AEM's system but a little unrealistic for my setup/ power goals and a little out range pocket wise...

Now what about this free software I hear about...do I need to mess with the ECU... I'm ODB2 so I don't eeven know if that avalible to me... I looked at Hondata too but way to expensive...(for ODB2)

So is Apexi the way to go....or would something be better? (tryin to stay in that general price range 250ish)

Again... I'm asking for help.... you guys rock! :thumbs up

no you didnt post this in the right area. but...

the answer to the free tuning software question is YES you do have to mess with not yours, but an obd1 ecu. you have a 96 dx which means you are obd2a. in the end your basically going to have to pay to buy a conversion harness, an obd1 ecu and to necessary equipment to chip it. the obd1 conversion harness and the ecu alone are going to run you around $150. if you can find them used then id do that. a vafc costs around $250 last time i checked anyway.

sometimes ebay has good hondata systems for sale. but they still arent as cheap.

Right so if I went the vafc no conversion is required....?
Is one way better than the other? (vfac VS conversion and software)

And sorry about posting in the wrong area..... :(

using the tuning software no matter which software will always be a billion times better than an afc

uhh isnt the hondata s200 for obd2 like 295? the afc controllers apexi has is like 250 isnt it like u stated above? i would rather pay teh extra 45 or so cause it got better options and can do everything and more then the apexi afc...

hondata its 295 for the box, another 200 for the boost features, 180 for the programmer 200 for the romeditor, and another 180 if you want real time programming. Hondata is expensive but worth it.

AFC is not the best option but it would work, another would be the Greddy Blue box. Apexi also makes the Power FC, it is up there with AEM, a little better from what i have read.
as for the free stuff for OBDII, it is being worked on, just not useable yet, but the chipping equipment for obdII is not cheap eather
