fuel pump question for boost

soon i will be running a g15 turbo and i will be putting 450 injectors in with it. my question is do i need a bigger fuel pump or can i get away with the stock one for now? also i plan on runnin 7 or 8 psi and just a dd car not run that hard much at all

7 or 8 pounds of boost. i was goin to get one anyway as soon as i could but will it be ok just to drive around town for a short ammount of time?

You should be ok. If you were running alot of boost then id advise to get one but if its temp and only 7-8 then you should be fine.

a stock honda fuel pump maxes out at around 200hp

what kind of engine management are you going to be using?

if you use a fmu, get a walbro, if youre going with turboedit, crome, bre, hondata, aem, etc you can stay with the stocker.

also, if you end up upgrading the fuel pump, i would recommend getting a fuel pressure regulator and fuel pressure gauge too.

Another friend is running a k20a with a super charger in a hatch with stock fuel pump. He is upgrading to a bigger fuel pump because the stock one is holding him back from getting bigger hp.

Another friend is running a k20a with a super charger in a hatch with stock fuel pump. He is upgrading to a bigger fuel pump because the stock one is holding him back from getting bigger hp.

so you think its ok to run your stock fuel pump to twice its normal capacity? i mean, you can run 300hp on a stock clutch, that doesnt mean you should do it. you can have one for under 100 bux shipped to your door, thats not expensive at all. so i see no reason to leave the stock one in. i wouldnt risk my K series (or D series for that matter) on the stock pump.

Well when the car is tuned at the right AFR then why not???

True I can't turn up the boost more or he can't run a smaller pulley for more boost because the car is at maximum.

So yes I see that it's fine to run a stock fuel bump until the AFR's go lean because you can't push anymore fuel.

its cool, if the stock pump is holding you, thats great. i see where youre coming from.

but the thing is, thats just one of the things on the oem parts list i dont trust. my cousin's fuel pump "overheated" and took a dump on him durring a freeway race. warped his head blew his head gasket and the detonation cracked his sleeves. it cost him about 2g's to get it back running over a 90 dollar part. so i guess you can see why i have an oem fuel pump grudge
