Was going in guys? I got an em1 stock b16a I was just wondering if a fully built b16a is worth the money. What parts could give it the most power? This is a DD not looking to race just want sumn fun and clean looking. I really wanna build it with the best parts possible. I also have thoughts on boosting it too.

Just looking to see what potential a fully built b16a has

Thx guys

I haven't seen many NA Honda motors making a ton of power. Not saying it can't be done, but for the same amount of money spent you'd be better off boosting. Honda's play nicely with boost!

For the power to money ratio, most people boost. Bolt on boosting can get you better results than bolt on N/A.
The common benchmark for a well done bolt-on boosted B16 with a reliable tune is around 300hp.
he common benchmark for a well done bolt-on n/a B16 with a reliable tune is around 160hp.

It just seems that there's way more potential on a stock B16 via boosting rather than going n/a, and if you wanna do n/a, drop in a rebuilt B20-v. =)

Potential wise, a "fully built" b16 NA can be 200+whp, and boosted fully built b16's have made several hundreds like 500+whp. Determine what you actually want to do with the car.

You can make gobs of power that you may not be able to legally utilize on the street and still daily drive the car. SHEEPEY is a fine example of this. If it's all worth it, is completely up to you. Everybody doesn't think the same or have the same expectations.

If you can decide what you truly want, we can recommend a way to get you there and then you choose if it's worth it to you or not.

If you're going to build it, If you want a really torquey all motor go b20 block with your b16 head, Good torque and power get a b18c1 block b16 head, If you want a high revving all motor go full b16. If you go boost i'd recommend a full gsr, The gsr combustion chambers make the b18c1 alot more prone to detonation on high horsepower cars as compared to the b16 head. You can take a LS crank and put it in a gsr to get a more torque'y GSR and still have a really strong bottom end that will rev high too, If you have cams that still make power over 9000 rpm i'd recommend a ATI super damper to take the vibrations out the crank and you won't shatter oil pumps (Not needed if the engine is balanced real well like it should be, But even with the engine balanced you will still have crank vibrations and the ATI super damper virtually takes out all the vibrations completely.) With forged internals you don't need oil squirters and so you can remove those for more oil pressure elsewhere. Decide whether you want to run E85 or pump gas, If you run E85 the motor can run alot cooler and you can run tighter piston ring gaps to have a stronger compression. Really you just have to decide what you want and go from there, If you got any questions just ask, Should be able to help with any questions on a b series motor, Building one right now for 600whp on E85.

If go n/a it is a waste for the money. If you go k or j that is a different matter. Their are superchargers for b series as well if you want instant power

You don't buy a B16 looking for power unless you're doing the forced induction route... there are plenty of other options if you want horsepower.

I purchased a full B16 that required a rebuild not too long ago and my plans are to rebuild it, swap it in, drive it a bajillion miles and live with it.

This. This is what this motor was built for. It's a commuter workhorse. If you want power out of it (and just about any Honda motor) boost it, or have supremely deep pockets and another car, as this one will be down a lot.
