Fuse Burn Out

First of all... i don't know much about cars.

Ok i was installing a new radio into my 2002 Honda Civic when i burned out the Radio fuse. I thought it was just that.. but when i turned on the car, the needles marking the meters didn't work right. They were vibrating up and down really quickly(as if its trying to get up) and after 3-5 seconds they stopped, all the lights came on on the dashboard (seatbelt, engine, fuel, direction arrow lights etc.) That, and the control used to open and close the locks on the doors is no longer working either. I was wondering if this is another burned out fuse or possibly something else. If anyone can help me, i would really appreciate it.

Yup, grab a meter and check your fuse banks, or pull the fuses one by one. If you have a Civic book, check your wiring diagrams for detailed information.

typically, when installing an aftermarket deck, you wont blow fuses unless you didnt disconnect the negative terminal on your battery

Disconnect it first, then refer to your civic's owner manual on the fuses panel, and start pulling fuses out and checking if they are blown
they are blown if the middle is black, and the two metal peices are no longer connected in any way

Also check your wiring
wrong wirings blow fuses VERY easily (i learned that the hard way, blowing like 15 fuses wondering what the hell was wrong with this crap, just to find out my wirings were wrong)

after you find out which fuses are blown, replace them, then finish connecting your deck, and then put the negative terminal back on the battery, then recheck everything
