both sides are to blame.

Minimum: $100,000 a year
Maximum $1,000,000 a year

Slash ticket prices to regain lost fan base after this years blunder.

This whole thing is just sad. The players in fact weren't out to get more money with the new CBA. The only thing they feel is that a hard salary cap destroys a market economy in the league. If teams are limited in the amount they can spend, players don't feel that they are valued as high as they should be.

I've heard talks that if there is still now CBA by next season's beginning, they'll start finding replacement players. Could work in my favor since I used to play Jr.A and haven't really lost much of my edge yet! =) Might have to go try out if that becomes the case.

Ha, that's actually a typical American attitude towards the game, which is why if they can't get anything figured out they should start a new league with all Canadian cities and maybe a few American ones who were members of the Original Six such as New York, Boston, Chicago and Detroit. If it were my team I'd also have teams in Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary, Saskatoon, Winnipeg, Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, Quebec City and Halifax.

If we did have a pro team in town, it would definetely would kill the Blades. You need a very large market like Vancouver in order to support a WHL and NHL team. Edmonton experimented with it several years ago with the Ice, but didn't make it work so they moved to Cranbrook. I'm sure there'd even be a strain on our 4 Jr.B teams if we had a pro team in S'toon.

Oh, and for the record, yes the Blades are in 1st but they're slipping as of late. It's nice to see them doing ok for a change considering they've been bottom feeders for the last couple years.
