Garrett T25/T3????

ok guys here is the deal my friend is fooering me a Garrett T25 which has been brd out to a t3 it cam of an eclipse that the engine blew the turbo has only aobut 1,000 miles form when it was rebuild to T3 he is offering me the turbo for
$250 wiht the blow off vlave and some onthe pipping the turbo has som carbo on it but it can be cleaned!! waht do you guys think is it worth it!! he says its a T25 but it looks mor like a T28 the turbo thingy doesnt curve outside liek a t25!!! give me your opinions should i get it or jsut go wiht a new one for a lot moor money too lol!!!!

Make sure the fins arn't bent on the intake side and exhaust side. Also check for shaft play. If all of the above is in good order, I'd take it. If you have nothing against buying used (you shouldn't) then take it. Assuming this turbo is good, thats a good deal. If you do buy it, get it checked out.

well the guy is a really good tech and i kinda trust him he said the only problem it the turbo need the be cleaned form the carbon form when the engine blew but its seemed prety ok!!!

a t25 has been brd (sp) to a t3??? what the f**k are you talking about. t3 is a kind of turbo....its not a size in its own. so him telling you that its a t3....is stupid. so waht i think you are trying to say is that he put a t28 compressor in the t25 housing???

the turbo look to me moor like a T28 and i think it god a bigger spool inside one of a t3

I dunno but boring out a turbo doesnt sound like it would make it very strong... kinda like when you bore a engine you are making the cylinder walls thinner and therefore weaker but at least you can sleeve a engine i dunno about a turbo

you can port a turbo, never heard of boring one out though. and if it is a t25 then it should look like the one in my sig

the spool??? you mean turbine or compressor? use the proper language, it makes you sound...not so smart. post pics, cuz i dont think there is major difference in appearence.

i wish i had a picture of it catalyst told me its probably a bigger turbine thats in it cuz hes got a t3 wiht a t60 compressor i think he said!!! well anyway guy tx for the help!!!!

Considering I paid 300 for a fully rebuilt t3/t4 in perfect shape, I wouldn't pay 250 for that.

ahh i decided screw the turbo for mow i still got my manufacturers warranty for another 15,000 dont want to waist that!!! so my nest project is a mini pc for my ride lol if money permits!
