gas gauge reading low

[just-in time]

the other day my gas gauge was on "E" so I filled it up, but it only took $9 and the gas gauge only went to a half a tank. how do I fix it

Sounds like it's time to replace the fuel sending unit in the gas tank. Pretty straightforward job, though the part costs about $90.
