Gasget help...

I need to know what I can use to keep the gasget between the header / wastegate in good shape. I keep blowing it apart. Now I have a trackter................ sound and I cant take the sound anymore.....

sounds like the flange is warped.. have it checked and repaired.

I thought so. I was hoping I could use a make your own gasget goope stuff. I just dont know whats a good brand to use.

RTV is some good stuff, but be careful, it wont always hold

i had that happen so many times too, that shits annoying i feel u. try sanding down the surface of the manifold where the wgate goes and clean up the bottom of the gate too. then use some RTV as ur gasket. mine has been holding like a champ now, even under high boost. just keep an eye on it and make sure it isn't the bolts on the wgate that are rattling loose

Use no gasket.. METAL TO METAL IS the best GASKET ever.. you just have to make sure both surfaces are flush
i had no gasket on my wg.. its not a big deal

rtv will die when presented with the kinda heat a wg deals with. to make it seal right, you need to get the wg to sit flush on the manifold.. nothing else is going to stop you from blowing gaskets.

I would reccomend not using one as well. It can cause the bolts on the WG to come loose

Yea I know it would be best, but this was a temp fix for a few weeks. It also worked just fine for that time. Im going to be redoing the hole turbo setup in the next few weeks, so I'll be all stright again with the set up.

the best RTV's (copper or red) are only good to something like 700°F INTERMITTANT. I would avoid RTV.

Mr. Gasket makes blank header gasket material you can get for a couple of bucks at O'Reilly or UhOhZone.
Cut it to fit and spray it with copper coat.

Get a regular pane of glass on a level surface to check the flange for warpage.

Well I do understand where your all coming from on this, but the red RVT worked like a champ... I know nothing is better the plane ole metal on metal, but in a pinch it worked just fine..
