gauge cluster question

i'm doing a auto-manual conversion on my 99 sedan. i want to replace my stock cluster(which does NOT have a tach) to a cluster out of a type r. if i buy the type r cluster i know it will bolt in but will the tach wiring be there already or is it just a case of my having to splice in wiring for it. i would assume the clips for the speedo and the fuel and temperature would just snap in and work.
any help would be very appreciated thanks!

the tach wiring should already be there... I swapped out my dx cluster (no tach) for and ex (has tach) and it worked perfectly fine. it was plug and play so to say

because we called a honda dealership and they told us that we would have to replace speed sensors, million parts,. i figured it was like you said that it would just plug and play. i figured they would wire them all for a tach weather it had it or not

I dont see why it would be any different in canada. You can swap USDM clusters no problem, and JDM clusters no problem, and USDM to JDM or vice versa. So I doubt you would have a problem. The dealership was just trying to sell you stuff. I know a few people who have swapped tach-less Cx clusters with Sir clusters with no problems except that a few warning lights didnt work(I believe one I kept hearing about was the light to indicate the rear hatch being open.) I also have a friend who did an auto-manual swap and replaced his auto DX cluster with a manual Si cluster with no problems.
