Hey homies I want to put some gauges where my radio is in my 99 ex but i have no clue where to start i tried looking on line for info no dice. I might not know the correct keywords to put in so i am asking for your help. I know someone from our millions of brothers and sisters on this site had to have done this before or seen it.

ive seen it done a few times, and also me and a friend did it on his 240, a little diff but we removed the air vents and put the gauges there. all you really have to do is remove your radio down to the little holder you have right above your cup holders, and make or try to find a plate to fit where the radio was. me and a friend just traced it out to see how big it is and then cut a piece of aluminum to put there and drilled the holes for the gauges and boom was done, as for the mounting. i forget what it looks like on the back of the piece but if you cut it right you could possible get it to fit just perfect so its nice and snug. or if there is screw holes just drill holes through w.e your are using and put screws in where the radio was on the back if there is slots for them. and your could just use glue or some type of epoxy. let me know if that helped any...

Look up for a block off plate on ebay. And then your going to have to drill holes the size of the gauges in the plate. Then they should just slide into place.

iv did this to a 98 coupe once for a buddy, he was into the polished diamond plate look, so what i did was weld some mounting arms to be able to lock the gauges into place, then plasma cut out the gauge holes, then used a dremel tool to clean up the edges, then wired up and intalled the gauges, it actually looks really tight, since he was using the car as a drag car, he wanted to ellimanate all the weight he could, so he removed all radio equpiment/speakers/speaker wires... but i always though it be tight to get a jvc head unit, then stick it in the glovebox, and use the remote to control it.
