General questions , about to buy Civic 00

Hey all just registered here was watching and researching cars for about 4 months now and decided to get my self civic 00 now there is some questions i would like to ask the seller claims that the model is SR yes SR saw more of those on the web in my country (Israel) well never saw them on the global net so if you have any information about the SR i would like to read about it... and i have extra 1500$ to spend on the car after the maintenance after purchasing it , it comes with some alloy wheels and nice audio system and angle eyes front and standard back light ... i would like to know what i can do to make it just a bit more nice looking interior and exterior not really looking for power upgrades but was thinking about cat back and air filter.... any suggestions for the civic noob im?

Hey thanks for the replay i was hoping somebody could answer me about the SR model... could you provide some more detailed information about lowering the suspension and where i could buy lip kits on the web i could not find any good. and if you have any general things to say about the car please do.

SR... Don't you mean SiR? Looks like the OEM NH-611M - Athlete Grey Metallic
Can you take a picture of the engine bay, interior, trunk, and just get a lot more photos?

I'd start with (assuming it's manual)
weighted shift knob
integra dual bend shifter
broadview rear view mirror
LED dome light

OEM or CTR 99-00 headlights, get philips xtreme 80%+ bulbs
Front lip: your choice, i'd get a Honda Fit front lip
Rear lip: OEM Civic Type R/SiR/SI etc;

leave engine mods alone, no need, it's just a Civic, they don't do much let alone anything noticeable.

Well its SR that is said in the retail web site here i looked in some Israeli civic forums they dont have 10% of the information i can get here but theres few people said that the SR is the top line with 125bhp i dunno Israel and stuff hehehe..... the car is automatic (its nearly impossible to find manual in good shape) I can sell those angel eye for about 250$ here . i don't really like them they draw too much attention. Wheels i can sell them for 200$ here . Mugen NR makes my day the only problem i cant get it shipped here... I will have to deal with what i will find in retail stores around here. If you have any good site with international shipping for wheel it would be a bless and i don't want any thing more then 16" because the laws here pretty strict about changing stuff in your car ... For the suspension i would like to ask few questions around here you have a lot of street bumps about 5 on normal size street so you cant speed up too much and they made here pretty bad their height is just huge i mean im afraid to get my car bumped every time i drive over one (and that will be alot) but i do want to lower it so how much to lower and with what exactly if you have links that would be great. About the pictures i cant get any meanwhile in few weeks i could get some. Thanks for replaying any help will be much appreciated !!!

Ahh, I apologize for the confusion, I just never heard of Israel's "SR" Civics:

So yeah, if that's the case you basically got a 1999 - 2000 Civic EX model, just pretend you're american now and have an EX, lol.
Did you ever notice that your front grill is USDM?

About suspension, Koni/GC is the popular choice. I have no experience with it, but I'm just relaying the message of what results you'll get with extensive google searching. When it comes to a suspension combo that's cheaper than most and worth it, that's what you'll usually read from people online.


edit: I looked more into it and are these all the trims of Civics in your region?

Before doing so, have you look into any other Civic's? or is this the one you surely want?
At first I thought you already had it, woops. Anyways:
Headgasket/overheating, idle problems, any CEL, shifts smoothly, windows roll down smoothly are the ones I can name at the top of my head.

Well i look for the 00 only now as longs as i know now there is to kinds of automatic SR here the premium one and the regular not sure about what is the difference but the grill is golden on the premium saw few of those still considering and not sure if i want the one i put the pictures of here. But i as long as i get to D day i look for more of them and there is few more worth looking with less kilometers on them and closer to my location maybe i will find good manual one (even thou the traffic here is horrible and a lot of jams) right now im looking for a good advice about what too look for when im checking them...
