the question is sort of a general question about tuning.

Turbo or NA it dosent matter.

Can you advance timing untill you get knock and then back it off a bit this is pre 2000 rpm to get more umph on the bottom end?

I have never used hondata only dsmlink software for my buddys car, I know this question applys to any car youc an tune though so I thought i would toss out that question.

Usually the answer to that question is yes, but how are you monitoring knock? Part throttle knock can be a pain to monitor without a knock sensor.

The LS motors don't have a knock sensor. And only OBD2 and up d16y8s have a knock sensor I believe for the D-series. But either way, they are useless. A good way to monitor knock is with a set of det cans.

Yep, you would. Another way would be a knock light or J&S safeguard. Which can monitor knock.
