Get a ticket for a "quiet" aftermarket exhaust?

How many of you with any of these "quiet" after market exhausts have gotten tickets specifically for having the aftermarket exhaust? What was the ticket written up for?

- apexi world sport
- greddy sp
- RS*R ultra mag (??)
- Stillen rear section
- etc

Also... what state were you in when you got pulled over?

Do you think you got pulled over for your exhaust or for the way the rest of your car looks?

I have gotten a ticket, it was just for the fact i had a modified exhaust. Sucks phat ass, but theres nothing you can do, or at least i think so!! I got screwed, and the court made me put a resonator on my exhaust. f**king government scum. Arggggghh! I got a Greddy, it sounds almost stock unless im like really on the Gas, so that fool was hella trippin. Cops are just import haters!

just check what the db level at 50 ft for these exhausts are...if they are below 92 db at 50 ft I believe it is still legal....

here in texas as long as you dont like in a major city ...cops dont really care about modifications except for exterior neon lighting.

Yeah, true on that neon thing. Neon lighting is ghey anyway. Here in Oklahoma, cops get pissy if you have hyperwhite bulbs. They try to say they're blue, but they're just hyperwhite. Bastards say you're impersonating an officer. BS. I stay away from crispy cream so I don't know where they are coming up with that impersonation bs...

Cops are just really anal when it comes to imports! Thats all im saying. I dont like the fact that they pull me over for one thing and try and find more s**t to get me for. Or dont even give me a ticket for what they said they pulled me over for and find some other s**t to put on a ticket. f**k!

Definitely they are asses always watch out at the end of every month too that's when they really get people..they have a quota to make and mostly they do it at the end of each month..My good friend is a state trooper so..I know

i figured everyone in nor cal bitching about exhaust tickets were fulla s**t or had something really loud till the last time i got pulled over and he mentioned mine being illegal ... i told him it was fine cause it was under 92db and he told me if i wanted to argue hed put it down so i shut up .. better to chill and let him think he was right than to have to spend money on db testing and go to court and s**t.

...always watch out at the end of every month too that's when they really get people...

Also watch out around the beginning of the month. Primarily the vets will get all of theirs @ or around the beginning & the noobs play catch-up around the end of the month. It's not a "quota" per se, each jurisdiction operates slightly differently, but generally the # of tickets written that month is compared to the # from the previous month & they are encouraged to be consistant month to month. You'd be amazed by the # of localities that actually count on revenue from traffic citations as part of their municipal operations budget.
