i enjoy going deaf in my car and i have an awsome system, when im inside it sounds perfect but when i have my music doubling as a stereo when im working outside or such i can hear the rattle of the trunk which i dont hear while inside. my question is this when i give a small push on the trunk with my hand the rattle decreases alot, so it theyre a way to make my trunk lock tighter? correction, is theyre a way to make it lock tighter cheaply? any help is appreciated.
p.s i already wrapped the trunk lock with tape to make it thicker, but that wasnt much help

there are bumpstops on the trunklid that you can unscrew so it closes tighter, but this puts more stress on the latch, and if you unscrew em too much the trunk wont close.

dont waste your money on dynomat. it is cool if your putting it in with your system but it doesnt decrease rattles as much as it makes your system sound cleaner. my friends prelude was rattling so we tried dynamat and it did nothing. his trunk latch was also the problem, we never really fixed it but we moved his small sub and box around so it would fire a different direction which helped a bit.

If dynomat didnt help your mates car then you put it in wrong. I havent seen a rattle that some sort of sound deadner didnt work on. If it the latch try some spray in types around the latch. For the trunk lid and sides, dynomat will work

Juss remove your trunk lid. Having a trunk lid is over rated, plus its a weight reduction.

Tryin moving your box around, or bring down the rear seats so all your bass isnt enclosed all in the trunk

thx for the input guys, dynamat is a bit out of my price range but i will try to tighten the the trunk lock, btw my licences plate used to rattle as well but i put some tissue paper in between and suprisingly it works well.lol. i know its ghetto but it works its not visible and olny have to raplace it when rains hard.
p.s. trunklids are overrated, my speaker match the color of the car and look much nicer with the trunk open :D

Save up for some dynamat. BTW, just becuase you can't pick out the truck rattle out of the booming bass doesn't mean you would hear it inside. If you listen closetly you will notice that you do hear, that it distorts bass alittle. I have to sound dead my rear deck it rattles like crazy when my subs start to thump.

EDIT: BTW, Dynamat will make your car smell like asphalt.

come on i had 2 12s in a 91 civic lx 4 door with no dynamat all i ever did was adjust the bumpstops and i could not hear any rattle in the car even though outside it sounded like i had aluminum cans in the trunk

same with a 94 accord ex 4 door no dynamat and the lisence plate was on the trunk on that one so outside it sounded really bad.

does your license plate rattle a lot? if so you can use weather stripping on the back of it

basically if you get rid of the gap for stuff to rattle around and it shouldn;t make anymore noise
