Gonna build a new car - supercharged

Hey what's up?? I have been out of the tuner scene for a few years now and have been getting the urge to build a new car. I had an '01 Prelude Turbocharged (lowered comp, RC 550s, AEM EMS, etc). I have always wanted to build an EG Hatch. I want to go with a JRSC this time. A friend of mine had looked into doing an H22 swap with the JRSC but found that it would not fit. My question is, why doesn' it fit? I can't remember if the problem is that the supercharger would hit the firewall, or if the hood wouldn't close. Does anyone have any input?

By the way, for anyone who is wondering to go turbo or supercharger, here is my input from experience with the turbo... Its a pain in the ass.

If the H22 will not work, then my next choice is gonna be a B20/B18.

Thanks,
Mike

Do they make a centrifugal supercharger for the H22? If the roots hits the firewall and you are set on a supercharger, Id look into the centrifugal.

I know that Vortech does not make one, but I have not kept up with what else is out there in a while. Last time I checked, the JRSC was street legal and I want to make sure this will be a d/d.

You should build a forced d-series with a supercharger AND turbocharger. I've seen it only once at a show I was at. Looked cool as hell and sounded very nice when he started it up! Otherwise, gluck with whatever you choose to do. And by the way, Vortech does make them and I think that Jackson Racing is going to start making a d-series supercharger if they haven't already.

h22s typically sit back fairly close to the firewall (due to most mounts) therefor i would assume the reason is due to the sc hitting the wall. but when it comes to f/i and swaps, i gotta give it up to turbo gsr's hands down

I have zero interest in a turbo. Had one before. Hated it!! It makes almost no sense for a daily driven car, with the exception of maybe a twin turbo, having a little turbo and a t3/t04. So, since it sounds like the H22 will not work out, why would a GSR motor be better than a B20Z2 block with a B18C? head? Wouldnt the B20 block have more to offer in the lower range and more torque, but get better horsepower and performance in the mid-high range from the B18 head?
