I've been waiting and waiting for the right deal to come along and I think this is it. I've got a $100 gift card for best buy and I don't think I can't lose on this deal they are running here locally. This also includes FREE installation.

What do you guys think?
Is this a good starter setup, I don't have anything in place right now.

meh :what: It's not that great a deal. It's okay.

For the "free" installation, you're going to have to buy an amp wiring kit, miscellaneous parts, etc...

Doenst look to bad to me. See if you can find how much it would cost if you got each of the components individually. If its less, then go for it.

we have a crutchfield outlet here in town and checked prices against them and they are usually hard to beat and the same setup there would cost $489.99 w/0 installation.

For the "free" installation, you're going to have to buy an amp wiring kit, miscellaneous parts, etc...
yeah, I figured on that too.

the amp is what I was really interested in, it looks pretty descent for the price...I could live with those speakers for a while.

"meh" is right. I had the wrong part number, did it again and found that Crutchfield has the same setup for $369.96 compared to bestbuy's $329.96.

....and free installation only on head units...bastards!! They want $35 just to "insert" the frigging speaker in the hole and $70 to wire it all up....and they want to charge me $70 for the cables.

I still save $40 if I go with best buy, but I think I will install it myself.

... people who expect free installation on s**t like this drive me nuts.

they have to pull up panels and s**t to wire all that stuff. it doesn't take ten stinking minutes. and you never get cables for free. EVER.

:what: i just think this kind of expense should be expected.

I get the hassle of the panels and wires but the $35 to put in 8 screws to put the speakers in the box? I also think that the wires shouldn't cost $70.

I am an installer at Bestbuy and I never charge people for wiring up the subs. I think that is just downright f**ked. 70 bucks for an amp install is a fair price across the board. As with the wires, complain all you want. I know that our wires are overpriced. Sometimes the greed of the corporate machines just baffles me. I wouldn't say buy your wires at wal mart cuz they are s**t, but a decent amp kit for a true gauged wire should run you only $10-20 in other shops

Etronics.com have the best prices ive ever seen other than ebay. buy all your components here and spend the best buy gift card on install kits, harness and good wiring, or video games. i saved almost $200 buying my deck from etronics over buying in a store or crutchfield.com
