Good exhaust for turbo application..

Hey everyone, im looking for a good cat-back exhaust for a turbo application, ive seen the thermal r&d, but im looking for 2.5", not 3"..so lemme know if anyone has thoughts..

that heat wraped pipe ends a few inches out of view

turbos act as big mufflers, its quieter than a 5.0 with single chamber flows

ah i see....never once heard that
So on a b series if you were to leave it like that setup above how loud would it be compared to the same engine with a n1? Turbo'd in both applications

invidia and tanabe are beautiful ...the tanabe hyper medallion is pretty quiet as well ...my buddy has one on his del sol..we have pix in the members rides sect

greddy evo turbo exhaust or greddy sp2 is suppose to better for turbo applications from what ive read. i wanna get the sp2 on my car.

This is a bad comparision, but its all i have....My exhaust (2.25" mandrel bent 2 glass packs and a flowmaster 40 series) on a b16 is louder than ricks D series with a strait pipe turbo.

i say go with the greddy evo tt it sounds good too....


i wonder how that sounds no exhaust in a turbo car

Aight well..Im figured out a solution, first off im running a 2.5 downpipe with flex section, testpipe and then I thought my current exhaust (meagan reacing) was only 2.25, but it turns out it just had a 2.25 inlet and is 2.5 all the way through, except for the 5.5" muffler and 4" tip, lol..so to the exhaust shop with a 2.5 flange I go. itll be interesting, esp running no cat in cali..time for teh heat shield fake cat trick..lol

just gut your cat, but whatever you do dont ask your shop to do it, they will get in alot of trouble. The one I posted can only get away with that setup beacuse he lives in the middle of nowhere Missourri

wow...I never would have imagined that....is this the case all the way through the rpm range?

I dont want to gut the cat, because well one, its not the right size, two i want to reuse it, three to get my test pipe made im just gonna take two flanges to a shop and say can you make me a pipe blah length with the flanges on the end ;) . And then at home ill get a heat shield from a cat and weld it on, so when the cops look under my car, with a mirror, haha bitches im too low to get your head under there, anyways..when they do, i "have a cat"..hooray

3" mandrel bend straight through. the less restriction the better :D
