Without making a list 100pages long...I've got a turbo'd, built B16.

1.8L
pistons, rods, sleeves
t3/t4e 57trim 63a/r housing
3"Dp, 2.5"high flow cat and 2.5"catback
20 psi

dyno results:
-310hp
-237ft/lbs

I've been told by some that these numbers are low and that I could benefit from a retune. Opinions welcome and feel free to ask if I've left out anything pertinent.

man that thing screams!

I believe the GT30R is significantly larger than my turbo...I dont have the cash at the moment to be investing in a larger turbo. I already went from last summers .48a/r housing upto the .63. That alone was a 51hp gain. From what I've been told there is allot left to be gained from tretuning my setup. Not that I'm complaining, its lots of fun as it is. I'd just like to see it put out numbers more appropriate to the setup.

And yes it is a lot of boost. I've had a few couplers pop off my charge pipes.....for those who havent experienced this......it sounds like disconnecting an air tool thats still pressurized......except 100times louder!

numbers are a little low yes.... but what program are u tunning with? Hondata...ect. remember that there are alot of things that can make a engine make or not make power i.e. fuel system, cams being used, ect. so maybe your tune is on par with what your car and system is able to support so no worries. : ) ps you should try and run a complete 3 inch exhaust system

EL mani
1000cc injectors+walboro
tuned with chrome
93octane
cleaned up stock head and valvetrain

Remind me if I've forgotten anything. I've spoken with the fellow who tuned my car and he swears its 100% due to the fact that I'm running a cat that my #'s are so low.

Gut the cat.. that's what I did.. my tuner (Evans Tuning) recommended it and I got a buttload more power.
I was making 268whp with a shitty log manifold only at 9psi.. all stock internals (bottom+top).. you should be getting more..

Depends on dyno as well... I know that the Mustang Dynameters read lower than most other dynos.

it sounds pretty low to me. i have a similar setup, only running 7psi, makes 285whp. ive got 3" turbo back exhaust no cat, no resonator, turbo muffler. 650cc injectors. stock b16 head, rebuilt LS block stock compression, ramhorn manifold, tuned on apexi powerFC

the motor did 160whp with no boost and a base tune from b16b map. 7psi gained 125whp... so 20psi should be well over 300whp for you i would think. your torque looks good though, i only made like 205 :|

mugenkid: 7psi on what turbo?

I'm thinking that next year I'm going to go catless. It's going to have to wait for next year though as the car is going into storage pretty soon.

The dyno was a mustang dyno. The stock b16 with v-afc, I/H/E dyno'd at 152hp and 102ft/lbs. Same shop same dyno.

Thanks for the comments and advice. I think I will go for the retune next year and remove the cat at the same time.

Deff lowww # for that turbo and set up!!

do u know what A/F you are running in boost?

with that turbo u should make in the highhhh 300's , maybe even brake 400whp @20psi

Why is the boost all over the place? That can be your prpblem right there..
Look on your graph on the red HP line.. @ right around 6100RPM the power band start braking up and dropping. i believe if the boost curve was smoother the HP curve would be also. Looks liek your boost is not held well ( 16-20psi) after5500rpm

I had a gate issue also,, and i lost about 15whp, just from a failing gate .. might be your problem looking at that ruff boost line.

so at 13.8psi (14psi).. the car made 436whp
*the red graph is the same psi but with a failing spring in the gate (crazy ass dipp at around 7100RPM)
* the green graph is the same 13.8psi , but with the problem corrected[/SIZE]

Also why are u only revving to 7200RPM.. looks like u are still making power at that RPM.. and if thats a B16 head, u can Rev to about 8200RPM Safe!

Pootie: I'm only running a 7-9psi spring in the wastegate and using a profec B II to reach the 20psi. Could that be causing my rough boost? Maybe bleeding off 13psi is too much for the profec to handle? I used the 7-9psi spring so that 1st and 2nd werent completely useless lol. I do hear a rapid tsh tsh tsh in higher rpm's near and in full boost.

My a/f's are high 11's when in full boost.

And I'm not sure why I'm only revving to 7200. That's how high I was told to rev it during the dyno session.
