hey yall, i dont know to much about audio, when i bought my car it had a 15"audiobahn sub and some kind of amp, it hit fantastic, but i took it out and my stock speekers sound like crap.

i have a 50 $ gift card to circuit city and would like to try and replace something with that to help.

im thinking i could replace all 4 stock speekers and put an amp to them, would that produce good enough sound for me? what speekers do yall recomment, and amp? i was looking at the Pioneer 6" x 8" 150W 2-Way Speakers but circuitcity.com says they wont fit???

please help meeeeeeeee

Screw Circuit City, $50 will get you one set of crappy speakers. Go online and check out Boss Audio and their Blade series speakers. I have 4 6 1/2 speakers and a small amp powering my speakers and I like how it sounds. I am going to upgarde to the Boss BL1600 amp soon. It won't thump like a sub, that's not what small speakers do. You will get a good all around sound, especial when hook up to an amp.

Trade your gift card for cash, and shop online.

.... okay, he was happy with an audiobahn sub. i don't think sound quality is a big issue.

even crappy speakers will be an improvement over low power crappy stock ones. :D

but... yeah, fifty buck won't get you four speakers. and i think you have 6.5s in front, and 6x9s in the rear. those are the sizes you should be looking at, though you can go smaller. i have 5.25s in the front and 6.5s in the back. :D

I have a Sony headunit powering my stock speakers and it sounds as good as all my friends that are rocking aftermarket speakers WITH aftermarket headunits (no amp or sub). The only reason why the speakers sound shitty with the stock headunit is because there's practically no power going to them. Slap on a headunit and it'll sound 100000x better. Now if you already have a headunit and you still don't like it, $50 won't get you anything.

no, they still sound like ass with an aftermarket HU.

aftermarket speakers are supposed to take more power. they're meant for an amplifier. the measly 20 watts that your aftermarket headunit supplies is not sufficient.
