I have a Civic DX D15 motor. I got offer to buy 92-95 EX/SI Complete Greddy Turbo Kit w/innercooler for $800. Will it fit my nonvtec motor and would it work properly? Risky? Let me know if this will work. Thanks

do you have a common intake manifold? like with the throttle body facing the passenger side of the car, or is your facing up towards the hood? im not sure which the dx motor is. but if you throttle body is facing up, youll need to switch to a y8 intake mani, and maybe head...im not sure.

and whys that, becuase it doesnt have a hideously oversized turbo that only spools in the last 2000 rpm so the manufacturer can claim higher peak hp numbers... gimme a break.

You should only need an intake manifold... Go here and ask the question they'll let you know exactly what you need. www.turbod16.com

The whole forum is about turboing a d series engine.

Oh yeah, about the risky question. You shouldn't have to change any of your internals as long as you run a low psi. Always good to be sure you've got some good fuel management too.

That is an odd opinion and I have to agree with handlebarsfsr about competitors component selection.not many street cars can run around @30psi without custom made head gaskets/o-ringing...etc.... and no D-series is gonna handle that kinda' pressure.

IMO the GReddy is a good setup that maintains day to day drivability (at a not so reasonable price but you get what you pay for)

I agree, greddy is a good kit if you're only gonna run a low amount of psi. And any turbo kit is only as good as the maintenance you put into it. It's not something you can install on your car and forget about.

i say make your own kit, piece it together, itll be SO much cheaper than the greddy and get as much or more power. im half way done and i only spent 250 bucks!

Hell yeah.. Last time i checked IMO didn't really mean anything 'cept my own opinion. to run 6-8lbs of boost is weak. My b18c1 spanks stock turbo like its cool. I think if you gonna do a turbo do it right. build the internals and at least get 12lbs of boost to shut people up like myself. Make it work for you. Alot of people misconcieve getting a turbo that your gonna be fast right out of the box. I guess you get what you pay for... oh yeah stop getting bent out of shape because of a commit i made..

I'm not getting "bent out of shape". I just think the GReddy is a well engineered kit and if this guy is getting all the components for $800.00, it's worth it. The thing that scares me about a junkyard turbo is fuel management. I have witnessed firsthand what happens to an engine with a large (estimated +12 psi...the boost gauge was nailed to the far side) amount of boost and no fuel management upgrades...in a word, "BOOM!!!!".
