Top is for vacuum and bottom can be left open to the atmosphere.

or you can plug it

its supposed to be some thing that will help it open faster or something if you hook it up

i just have mine plugged.

it doesnt really matter..the higher boosting people usually put a little nipple on the piping and then put a hose to connect the nipple from the bov to the pipe again

but yea use the top nipple and turn your setting to the correct setting, if you get alot of surge goin on just soften it up or take out the big spring and adjust from there

you have to loosen the nut....and then use a allen wrench to either tighten or soften it...and then tighten up the nut again.....i just adjusted it until i liked the sound....

no

stiffer or softer wont effect the sound. if it does then you are doing it wrong.

it will effect how easy the valve will open.

you dont want it to be too soft or it will leak boost, and open early. and you dont want it too stiff or it will surge.

it does affect the sound though....if i have it to tight it wont open as well so it wont blow off all the way....when i have it on soft it blows off real easy and louder....

I ran into a bit of a problem. I've got the bov very loose and i'm still getting compressor surge followed by the actual bov giving a high pitched squeal.
What could be the problem?

do you have both springs in? if you do and are boosting at a low psi..try taking out the big spring , but make sure you put the small spring back correctly..
just use a hex key and take the top off but keep pressure on it lid so it doesnt pop off

ok thanks, i'll try that tomorrow. (but, i've heard that you should take out the smaller spring because if you take out the bigger one their will not be enough tension and you will experience boost leak)

i took out my big one and nothing bad has happened yet
you can try both of them and set the stiffness and see which setting gets you no compressure surge

so why take out one of the springs? does it make the bov louder?

i was thinkin about takin one out on mine...but decided to run both of them and it did fine @ 3psi....now im running 12psi and its still doing fine.....i dont really see a point to takin it out
